1. What this plugin does
------------------------
The WordPress plugin "OsKracht Video Compressie" compresses videos so
they become smaller without noticeable quality loss, and then displays
them self-hosted on the user's website - with no ads and no third-party
branding (unlike, for example, Vimeo or YouTube, which do show their
own branding).

2. Which external service is used, and why
--------------------------------------------------
To compress videos, the plugin sends the video file to a secure
external server: video.oskracht.nl. This server is operated by
OsKracht and runs the actual video compression via FFmpeg.

This happens because video compression is very resource-intensive and
cannot be run on regular (shared) WordPress hosting. Without this
external processing step, the plugin would not be able to function on
most WordPress hosting environments.

This external processing only starts when the site administrator
(someone with the WordPress role that has administrator rights)
deliberately uploads a video or selects an existing video in the media
library to optimize. The plugin never sends data automatically or
without a deliberate action.

3. What data is sent
------------------------------------
- The video file itself that the site administrator wants to compress
- The domain name of the WordPress website (used to link the site to
a license/account with the compression service)
- The site administrator's email address (required when activating
the plugin, including for the free trial - used for account
management and important notifications, such as a warning when a
  usage limit is reached)
- Optional: if the site administrator chooses to use the built-in
sharing feature to send a compressed video, the recipient's email
address they provide (e.g. a colleague or friend) is used once to
send an email with a download link. This email address is not
  stored for any other purpose.

No data is collected or sent from regular website visitors. Only the
site administrator operating the plugin can trigger data being sent.

4. How long data is retained
--------------------------------------
- The uploaded, original video file is removed from the external
server (video.oskracht.nl) as soon as compression is complete.
- The compressed video remains on the external server as long as the
account is active. In case of prolonged inactivity (depending on the
chosen plan, typically several months), the account holder first
receives an email warning, with a reasonable period to become active
  again before deletion takes place.
- When the plugin is used to optimize an existing video from the
user's own WordPress media library, the plugin creates a backup copy
of the original file that is kept locally on the user's own website
(not on the external server), so the site administrator can restore
it themselves with one click at any time.
- License and usage data (such as domain name, subscription status,
and usage statistics like total data saved) is retained for as long
as the license is active, for billing and support purposes.

5. Payments
---------------
Payments for a premium upgrade are processed via Stripe. OsKracht does
not itself receive or store any payment card details; these are
processed exclusively by Stripe according to their own privacy policy.

6. Security
-----------------
All communication between the WordPress plugin and the external
compression server takes place over a secure HTTPS connection.

7. User rights
------------------------------
For questions about processed data, requests for access, or requests
for data deletion, you can contact info@oskracht.nl.

8. Changes

This privacy policy may be updated from time to time. The date at the
